Tempeh

Originated from Indonesia. Made from soy bean by fermenting process and it is known as one of the best source of protein.

Tips : If you have one that sits too long in the fridge and starts to smell bad, don't throw it away. It is still safe to consume as long as you know how to cook it. Cheers!
Bacang
a.k.a. Zongzhi or Rice Dumpling.

This popular Chinese traditional snack is made from glutinous rice/white rice stuffed with minced pork/chicken and wrapped with bamboo leaves.

Hint : One is never enough.
It is highly addictive. I've warned you!
Nasi Bakar
(Grilled rice wrapped in banana leaves)

The combo between fresh herbs (lemon basil, lemongrass, shallots, etc), chicken, stinky beans (a.k.a petai) and not forgetting the aroma of grilled banana leaves will make you long for second serving then third and probably fourth? ;)

Note : Don't judge this dish by its pale looks. Just one word! UMAMI...

From Indonesia to New Zealand
Our recipes come straight down from the food shop manned by our grandmother at Jalan Arjuno in Malang, Indonesia back in the 1950s. There, she would be cooking and selling delicious Indonesian snacks and everybody in the neighborhood loved it.

Although we moved from Indonesia to New Zealand, we were still very keen to continue our grandmother's legacy. We put in the hard work to learn her famous recipes and today, we are proud to say that our snacks are 100% as delicious as those sold in the street of Jalan Arjuno.
